Atlantic Road Construction & Paving is a large heavy civil construction company specializing in heavy civil excavation and flatworks, pipeline placement, concrete placement and asphalt paving. We are currently looking to hire an experienced Tractor Trailer Driver to join our growing team in the HRM area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Check equipment before operating to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency components are in good working order.
• Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulation, and compliance.
• Communicate any unsafe conditions or accident/injuries immediately to the supervisor.
• Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively to provide quality customer service.
• Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work as required.
• Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation.
• Operate equipment such as mobile radios and telephones to exchange necessary information to supervisors or other operators.
• Ensure that any debris caused by loading/unloading of equipment is cleaned up.
• Available to work Monday to Saturday (some Saturdays are required but not every week)

Requirements:

• Valid class 1 driver’s license
• Clean drivers abstract
• 3 years of commercial driving experience
• Ability to operate vehicle in a safe manner in all weather conditions
• Must be reliable and punctual
