THE ROLE:
The TCU Software Development Team is looking for a Software Test Engineer, with focus on TCU Diagnostics.
In this role, you will work closely with Test Leads and Software Developers from various domains (RF, Networking, Configuration, CAN Communications, Power, Security and others) to validate their implementation of features and bug fixes.
YOUR IMPACT:
As a Diagnostics Test Engineer, you will develop a deep understanding of ECU Diagnostics (same knowledge applies to any ECU in the vehicle). You will design, implement and execute software integration and functional tests, taking into account several inputs such as: Diagnostics Requirements & Specifications, Software Implementation Documents and Vehicle End-of-Line Procedures.
You will improve your troubleshooting skills by investigating (log analysis) and help drive issues to resolution. You will also work alongside a Python Script Developer who automates Diagnostics test cases, helping validate his scripts and doing code reviews. And, if you are up for it, you can support the automation effort by doing some scripting yourself!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent field of study (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required)
- 2+ years of software test experience on either:
- Embedded software platforms (Linux, QNX or Android OS) AND/OR
- Network Products (Routers, Network Management, Cellular, WiFi) AND/OR
- ECU Diagnostics (automotive or equivalent industry);
- 2+ years of experience with Test Case Development (Test Design, Review, Traceability, Reporting) and tools (HP Quality Center, Testrail).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working experience at Automotive or related industries.
- Working experience with ECU Diagnostics: CAN Bus Messaging and Tools, UDS Protocol, ECU Configuration.
- Working experience with Power Supplies, Signal Generators & Analyzers.
- Familiar with reading circuits’ schematics.
- Familiar with JIRA as Requirements, Development and Defects Tracking Tool.
- Experience developing automation scripts in Python.
- Excellent written (test case design) and oral communication skills.
