Venor is proud to partner with our client, a Nationally represented Health & Wellness company with Distribution Centers in both Ontario and British Columbia, in their search for an experienced and passionate Warehouse Manager to join their team and oversee their warehouse operations.

We are seeking someone who brings prior warehouse leadership experience, is a champion for safety and understands how to engage and train a small team to execute with excellence.

The Warehouse Manager is a key, working member of a small team who manages plans, leads and directs warehousing executions and initiatives pertaining to shipping, receiving, storage, replenishment, production order fulfillment, and inventory control within an SAP environment.

Based in Pickering Ontario, this role will be responsible for the oversight of both their distribution centers and key supplier relationships outside of the warehouse. Quarterly travel to Vancouver will be required.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Guides and directs the day-to-day activities of their small warehouse team
  • Creates, leads, and delivers effective training to all new and existing team members that reflects business volume and needs
  • Champions a safety culture within each Distribution Center. Awareness and education, reporting of incidents, injuries and work hazards, and investigation of accidents
  • Maintains up to date training process and procedures for their Ontario and BC Distribution teams
  • Supports team members in identifying and solving problems and guides them toward self-direction in daily work
  • Develops and tracks associate performance against established department Key Performance Indicators
  • Conducts regular coaching and feedback conversations with each team member
  • Trains, and develops associates to realize individual and team goals
  • Provides feedback for the most effective use of resources to provide an uninterrupted supply of goods to all customers
  • Oversees a comprehensive training program for the proper operation of material handling equipment and execution of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Shipping & Receiving

  • Coordinates the daily warehouse activities of shipping, receiving, storage, replenishment, production order fulfillment, and inventory control in a manner that provides an uninterrupted flow of material to all internal and external customers
  • Assists in the receipt, storage, replenishment, picking, and shipping of material
  • Oversees both facilities and holds key supplier relationships related to warehouse operations
  • Responsible for managing and operating within a defined budget

Inventory Management

  • Ensures a high level of inventory accuracy through the proper execution of SOPs. Supports FIFO procedures for inventory control and tracking
  • Oversees the execution of a cycle count program
  • Ensures that all documentation and processes are handled accurately and according to Quality System procedures
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong team player and possess a positive attitude
  • 5+ years of progressive warehouse management experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated supervisory success in a WMS/RF distribution environment
  • Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and strong coaching and mentoring skills
  • Systems oriented, general computer knowledge, including Word and Excel is required
  • Excellent communication, people management, conflict resolution, and time management skills are required
  • Experience in Material Requirement Planning (MRP) environment and have a thorough understanding of the disciplines required in a warehouse supporting a fast pace, pick/pack operation
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of warehouse executions in an environment employing WMS/RF technology
  • Experience with SAP and reach truck an asset
  • Forklift certification a must
  • Able to stand (8 hours a day) must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds with assistance
