As a Wealth Consultant you are responsible for the provision of financial planning and investment advice services to our membership. This includes but is not limited to the production of financial and investment plans.

In summary, the Wealth Consultant will:

  • Report to the VP, Retail Delivery
  • Offer advice related to estate planning, education savings planning, budgeting, retirement planning and basic tax planning.
  • Comply with established policies, guidelines and procedures.

As the successful candidate, you’ll have responsibility for:

  • Fostering relationships to gain, service and retain business opportunities.
  • Creating diversified registered and non-registered portfolios through the sale of mutual funds based on your recommendations.
  • Completing financial plans for members by identifying member financial objectives, gathering/processing/analyzing relevant information, developing the financial plan, implementation and consistent follow up.
  • Conducting continuous market research and trend analysis.
  • Providing reporting to the credit union.
  • Coaching and mentoring colleagues.

The “must-have” skills and qualifications that we’re looking for are:

  • Post-secondary education in business or finance.
  • A PFP or CFP is required.
  • IIROC or MFDA licensing is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years financial services experience.
  • Proven track record in asset gathering.
  • A commitment to providing exceptional member service.
  • Ability to work in an innovative, fast paced environment.
  • A strong knowledge of computers notably related software and programs.

Additional skills are considered assets too:

  • Proven experience in building portfolios.
  • Entrepreneurial aptitude.
  • Proactive Business Development.
