We are looking for an enthusiastic Web Development Intern to join our Digital department. In this role, you'll have an opportunity to experience full development from gathering requirements, developing, and presenting the solution. If you pride yourself on your attention to detail, passion and drive for learning, and desire to code at a high-level, this is the position for you. As an intern, you will work with business resources and a team of developers to build high performing and large transaction support e-commerce applications.
What will you be doing?
- You will leverage your programming and technical expertise to develop custom solutions that enhance website performance and improve customer experience.
- You will employ best software development practices to develop well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
- You will utilize your problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while escalating complex problems to senior team members when necessary.
- You will communicate effectively with team members both inside and outside of the department.
- You will acquire and apply knowledge in developing Shopify stores, Shopify applications, and Laravel applications.
Additional Details:
- Internship Dates: May 1, 2023 - to August 18, 2023
- Hours: Full Time (40 hours per week)
- Location: Vancouver, BC with the ability to work some hours remotely
- Wage: $16.00 per hour
Requirements
- You must be available to work from May 1, 2023 - to August 18, 2023
- You must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field at an accredited college or university
- You must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person who is legally able to work in Canada
- You must be located in Vancouver, BC
- Strong knowledge of web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Programming experience with at least one modern language such as php, ruby, or C# including object-oriented design
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, algorithm design, data structures, problem solving, and complexity analysis
- Experience with Javascript library such as Angular, React, and/or Vue is an asset
