Our Medical Receptionist is an important part of our team who provides outstanding care and support to patients and co-workers. They need to efficiently provide patient support and coordinate

Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients and visitors and checking them in and directing them to the appropriate staff or department.
  • Answering phone calls, emails and faxes and scheduling appointments, confirming appointments and managing patient registration and check-in processes.
  • Verifying patient insurance and demographic information and updating patient records as necessary into the EMR.
  • Arrange, queue up virtual appointments for physicians.
  • Printing invoices and collecting payments and processing patient payments for uninsured services.
  • Managing medical records and ensuring they are organized and up-to-date.
  • Responding to patient inquiries and providing excellent customer service.
  • Collaborating with medical staff to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  • Relieving and supporting other staff as needed
  • Performing other administrative tasks as assigned by the office manager or supervisor.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to PIPEDA regulations.

What you will bring

  • Previous experience in a medical clinic or office is critical
  • A genuine interest in the patient's healthcare and well-being.
  • Personable, friendly and enjoys interacting with patients and customers.
  • Comfortable with a paperless office, computers, software and ability to learn new systems.
  • Comfortable with and can adapt to change in clinical operations and strive for excellence.
  • Self-starter with an ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Enjoy and work well within a team environment to achieve team goals.
  • A keen interest in a career in the health services field.
  • Experience with Telus Med Access an asset.
