The Medical Technician is an important and unique role within our clinical team. The Medical Technician supports the team by assisting the physician with tasks that improve the patient
experience and the physician’s ability to treat patients more efficiently.

Responsibilities
- Retrieving patient chart in EMR.
- Performing various testing
- Blood pressure
- Pulse ox, Heart rate, Temperature, Weight
- ECG assistance
- Other testing as required to better assist with physician assessments
- Test for the General Assessment systems
- Documenting results of testing in EMR.
- Consulting patients’ medical record as required to provide patient care.
- Completing or adding notes to patient medical record.
- Explaining investigations and test preparation.
- Ensuring the clinical area is stocked with necessary supplies.
- Turning over rooms between patients, stocking rooms and maintaining cleanliness.
- Performing other duties as necessary to ensure success of the clinic.
- Performing some patient administrative tasks.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to PIPEDA regulations.
What you will bring
- Training in health sciences related program, or undergraduate in health sciences related program,Licensed Practical Nurse, all considered assets.
- Previous experience in a medical clinic or office is critical
- A genuine interest in the patient's healthcare and well-being.
- Personable, friendly and enjoys interacting with patients and customers.
- Comfortable with a paperless office, computers, software and ability to learn new systems.
- Ability to multi-task without losing attention to detail.
- Comfortable with and can adapt to change in clinical operations and strive for excellence.
- Self-starter with an ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Enjoy and work well within a team environment to achieve team goals.
- A keen interest in a career in the health services field.
- Experience with Telus Med Access an asset.
