Computer and Electronics Sales Representative Job at Nearly New

Nearly New Port Hope, ON

We are a computer sales and repair shop, and buy and sell store, located in Port Hope, ON, Canada.
This job is for 1 person who can work well by themselves, or with other people. You would be selling computers and other electronics, furniture, appliances, etc. You also might be required to repair computers and other electronics, so a very good understanding of how they work would be a great asset. All sales will be paid commission + sales bonuses on top of your other pay.

Some Required Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Greet and interact with all customers to determine their individual needs and recommend appropriate products/solutions.

- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.

- Describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of merchandise to customers.

- Perform sales transactions and handle all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established procedures and practices.

- Test all electronic products to ensure their proper operation. Repair items if needed, or suggest options to recycle.

- Clean, price and prepare incoming merchandise and consignment items for purchase.

- Arrange and display merchandise to promote sales. (ie: Changing window display on a regular basis or displaying signs on the wall)

- Promote sales using our own website, Kijiji and Social Media sites as much as possible. Also, make sure sold items are taken down from these sites.

- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.

- Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to prevent or handle these situations.

- Receive computers in for repair and correctly enter all information into repair ticket.

- Maintain Consignment Book prices and stock information.

- Keep sales floor clean, stocked and maintain display of merchandise.

- Keep kitchen, bathrooms and staff areas clean and tidy.

- Answer incoming calls with a smile, and answer any questions or transfer call if needed.

- Receive and store any large deliveries that come in and make sure all items were received as per packing slip.

The commission and bonuses depend solely on the amount of sales the employee makes each month.
