This position is stationed at Medcan’s Oakville location at 2275 Upper Middle Road East and is part-time.
The Role:
Medcan is recruiting for an experienced and professional courier to support our Medcan Healthcare Laboratory and Facilities department. The role is responsible for packaging and transporting client samples from our Oakville site to our Toronto clinic. This role will also assist with maintaining clean and attractive conditions of all Clinic premises including locker rooms, lounges, offices, and examination rooms and facilitating the flow of patients through the clinic.
The Accountabilities:
- Package and transport client samples from Oakville site to Toronto 2 – 3 times daily
- Substitute various means of transportation to deliver samples to Toronto site
- Perform daily check on transportation bags to meet all required conditions
- Identify problems and report to Laboratory Manager
- Alternative faster mode of transportation is highly recommended
- General maintenance of all areas of the clinic
- Maintenance of restrooms and locker rooms
- Review and reporting of any maintenance deficiencies
- Spot checking and refreshing all public areas
- Responding to client requests
- Checking and distributing incoming deliveries
- Clinic supplies and deliveries as needed
- Sterilization of equipment
- Disposal of clinic waste including medical/biohazard waste
- Preventive maintenance
- Coordinating with other clinic staff to ensure exceptional delivery of service
- All other tasks as assigned
The Requirements:
- An Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
- Current TDG certificate holder preferred
- G License is required
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Adherence to Medcan Policies/Standards
- Must have own vehicle
This is a part-time position working consistent Saturdays and as needed within business hours Monday through Friday.
*Medcan does not have company vehicles for the role, so your own vehicle is required. Medcan will be responsible for all costs of transportation. *
