About You:

First and foremost, you LOVE sports. As a Data Scientist, you will utilize your experiences in programming and statistics to manage data processes that power our data science models. Your ideas and efforts will be integral in determining the accuracy (or inaccuracy) of our core product. Lastly, you are someone who continuously looks to improve our current and future products.

Your Responsibilities:

• Manage regular data processes to ensure the data pipeline is ready for upcoming sports games
• Query data for daily or ad hoc processing and analysis
• Identify new sources of data and obtain via APIs and web scraping
• Validate data from new sources to ensure accuracy above all else
• Collaborate with data science and development colleagues to create new solutions for our product as well as maintain existing ones
• Analyze our data science model’s output to evaluate performance versus known outcomes
• Proactively identify areas for improvement in our data processes and models

Your Qualifications:

• You have a formal education or a mix of education and experience equivalent to Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, math, or engineering and 2+ years of work experience
• You've managed regular data processes and data pipelines before
• You're comfortable in identifying and prioritizing impactful data science projects
• You've automated the ingestion of new data sources and are knowledgeable in ensuring the integrity of ingested data sources & outputs
• You are a self-starter who has worked for start-up environments before
• You are proficient with Python and SQL
• You are located in and can legally work in Canada
