The Ottawa Rotary Home Leitrim Campus provides individualized respite services to both children and adults with physical disabilities and/or medical complexities. The Ottawa Rotary Home Respite Program exists to provide family member's the necessary breaks to keep families healthy and strong. Respite Services are provided to individuals as young as toddlers well into adulthood to provide families piece of mind of knowing that ORH will be there to support them as their child grows and their care evolves. Our fully accessible home boasts a beautiful back yard that includes a splash pad, play structure, garden and the space to allow our respite clients to enjoy the outdoors safely and peacefully.

The Ottawa Rotary Home Leitrim Campus also provides a small residential program, home to 3 individuals with varying needs and goals as well as an Adult Day Program that serves a number of individuals in the Ottawa Area.

The Ottawa Rotary Home Leitrim Campus is currently looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate team members to support both our residents and our respite clients. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about providing the highest quality of care while supporting a healthy social and emotional well being for all individuals that we serve.

ORH offers all new employees an extensive training program that includes orientation, shadow shifts, Controlled Acts training and a full Onboarding session to ensure you are fully equipped and set up for success in your new role. Our ideal candidates are those interested in growing their skill set in the Developmental or Social Services field, developing meaningful relationships with the individuals they support and those who demonstrate a high level of creativity and initiative.

The successful candidate will be one who shows great interest in continuing to enrich the lives of the individuals that we support.

Job Expectations:

  • Provide supervision and support to the individuals residing with ORH
  • Complete program planning and daily activities including community support, in home activities and event planning
  • Provide all necessary aspects of daily living including personal care
  • Home maintenance including cooking and cleaning
  • Maintaining a safe home environment for all individuals within both respite and residential programs
  • Participate in the annual planning of residents and assist in the development of Individualized Support Plans and annual goals.
  • Keep up to date on agency policy, information, and guidelines
  • Maintain accurate client and agency records
  • Promote an environment of well-being and self-care for peers and residents
  • Act as a liaison between internal and external contacts
  • Maintain current standing in required courses and annual certifications

The following are required to gain employment at ORH:

  • Valid CPR/First Aid and Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) Certification or, you must be willing to obtain these certifications.
  • Clear vulnerable sector criminal record check (within 6 months)
  • Proof of education. The Ottawa Rotary Home is looking for individuals possessing a diploma in Developmental Services, Social Services, Child and Youth Worker or a Personal Support Worker certificate or equivalent work experience with individuals with developmental delays, physical disabilities, medical complexities etc.
