Job Summary:
Based at our Montreal Head Office at 5592 Ferrier Street, Ville Mont-Royal, Quebec, H4P 1M2, the Design team is looking for a permanent full-time Divisional Design Director to be responsible for ensuring brand integrity through the creation and development of styles that drive company sales and profits. Providing leadership to the division, the Divisional Design Director ensures that the vision and emerging trends are translated into product that attracts and retains customers.
You will be involved in our ongoing transformation from a traditional brick & mortar retailer, to an omni-channel leader and tech-first fashion disruptor.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate briefs from Senior Design Director to respective team members;
- Ensure visions and trends are translated into assigned product lines by responsible designer and design teams;
- Conduct research and global analysis to create collection look and direction;
- Oversee the development of new fabrics, washes, trims and finishes that are budget-aligned and that consistently elevate the brand;
- Oversee style creation and ensures product cohesiveness;
- Partner with the Head Designer\Design Director to ensure artwork process is aligned to design direction;
- Partner with merchandisers and work in close collaboration to deliver a brand aligned product;
- Ensure control-related standards and procedures are adhered to and recommend solutions for potential improvements;
- Collaborate with related departments to ensure cross-functional cohesiveness in terms of production calendar timelines and procedures;
- Provides leadership and coaching of Design team.
Qualifications:
- United States retail experience in similar market or targeting similar client base is required;
- DEC or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design;
- At least 6 years of experience in the creation and management of the design process and teams;
- Proven experience in designing and executing successful products;
- Proven leadership abilities;
- Highly collaborative;
- Strong knowledge of formulating color palettes and product construction;
- Strong knowledge of full production cycle and impact on design;
- Strong knowledge and understanding of trends and fashion apparel industry;
- Excellent communication skills, including ability to present concepts;
- Excellent knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word);
- English or French;
- Able to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Salary range is between $150,000-$225,000 depending on experience and related qualifications, eligible for discretionary and performance bonuses. Relocation assistance if needed.
