K'awat'si Construction is looking for a General Superintendent to join our team in Port Hardy, B.C. The General Superintendent will oversee the construction process and is responsible for the construction activities within the established design, budget, and scheduling guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Confirm that team members are following KCC rules and guidelines, including work shift protocols.
• Manage overall operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures. Ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Serve as a company representative on regulatory issues.
• Enhance the operational procedure, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting and looks for opportunities to expand systems.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company's policies and applicable laws.
• Assure that construction schedules are being met and that materials are available when needed.
• Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions.
• Enforcing policies and procedures
• Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout.
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
• Accomplish operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• Responsible for all department managers and supervisors, with review/approval responsibility for all operations employees.
• Run a safe, injury/accident-free workplace.
• Responsible for all aspects of vehicle and heavy equipment rentals
• Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 2 Years of related experience required
• Latest Driver’s Abstract
• Valid Driver’s License
• Red Seal Certification considered a strong asset
