Cool Aid is seeking additional resources to assist in our health and hygiene precautions for Covid-19. This is a great opportunity for each of us to do meaningful and important work.
The Site Greeter is responsible for assisting staff by greeting and assisting tenants and visitors as they enter our Hillside Terrace Assisted Living site.
Greeters will greet visitors, ask them to clean their hands thoroughly, and educate them about proper cough/sneeze precautions. Greeters will advise visitors who are feeling sick to refrain from visiting. This initiative will help keep our tenants, visitors, and staff safe.
Responsibilities:
- Provide appropriate on-site orientation.
- Interact with visitors in the lobby area: greet respectfully and help with the needs of residents and visitors.
- Inquire if recently returned from an overseas trip within 14 days.
- Keep the lobby area clean.
- Handle complaints as they arise and report.
- Alert Manager of any safety issues/difficulties.
- Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with the public.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Community social service experience with senior in a related setting, and/or Customer service experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Requirements
- Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check.
- WHMIS Certification (to be completed upon hire).
Job Information
- Hourly Wage Rate: $19.66 to $22.90.
- Shift Times: 6:30am to 12:30pm.
- Work Days: Monday to Friday.
- Total Weekly Hours: 30
- Work Location: 1460 Hillside Avenue - Hillside Terrace.
- Union: BCGEU.
- Job Type: Part-time temporary.
Portability
Candidate upon hire may be eligible to transfer the hours worked with other Community Social Services Agencies under the Retention and Portability memorandum. Some restrictions may apply.
