Waste Connections of Canada has an immediate opening for a skilled Third Year Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice to join our team in Saanichton, BC to work on a fleet of garbage trucks. In this position, you will be working on heavy diesel trucks. We do a lot of hydraulics and electrical along with preventative maintenance and minor engine repair. A lot of our fleet is still under warranty! We are looking for a SAFETY inclined, energetic, autonomous and proactive team player capable of making a difference in his/her team and community.

We offer top hourly wages and shift incentives, and as this is a union position, you get great union benefits and a pension plan. We also offer safety bonuses, tool allowance, and supply boots, uniforms, etc.

Hourly rate: $44.66 per hour (ticketed) with an additional shift premium of .30 cents

Qualifications:

• Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or equivalent
• Third or Fourth Year Apprentices accepted!
• 3-4 years of experience in truck and trailer repairs
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment tests
• Experience with drivability, hydraulics, engines
