Job description

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for accurately and efficiently diagnosing and repairing industrial engines, power generation products and various types of equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all work is being completed to industry and OH&S standards
• Participate in all required Health & Safety training programs
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair diesel and natural gas engines
• Complete services such as inspections, oil changes, and CSA282
• Reassemble, adjust and test new or repaired components
• Repair or replace failed components and equipment
• Enroll and complete factory provided dealership training

Qualifications:

• Hold a Journeyman/Journeywoman HET certificate or be an experienced apprentice
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Effectively work in a fast pace environment
• Previous experience with engine rebuild, diagnoses and repairs
• Previous Power Generation experience
• Ability to plan and organize is a must
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Excellent customer service and phone skills
• Upbeat and can-do attitude
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid drivers license, and clean drivers abstract
• Must be able to lift up to 23 kilograms
