The AP Group of Companies is a wood products business involved in logging and primary and secondary forest products manufacturing operations in the Southern Interior and the coast of British Columbia. There are three divisions in the AP Group: Interior Lumber Division, Coast Lumber Division and the Plywood Division.

Reporting to the Site Manager, the HR and Safety Advisor position assists in the development and maintenance of the site support systems including safety, employee training programs and recruitment along with other administrative support functions as required.

The successful candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to respond effectively to multiple and changing priorities. The candidate will make decisions and recommendations in a timely manner and have the ability to apply policies and procedures with consistency and confidence as well as facilitate labour relations activity with the union, including resolutions of grievances with the Production Superintendent

A Human Resources background with previous experience in a unionized environment, particularly in a manufacturing setting, and is familiar with general labour relations matters will be considered an asset. This position will be heavy on the Safety Advisor side within the plant.
