Inventory Control Specialist

We are currently in search of a career-orientated person to join our Inventory Control team. The position operates in a fast-paced, dynamic and rewarding environment. You will be responsible for the tracking and investigation of missing products, performing audits of incoming and outgoing products, projects related to improving warehouse functionality and reducing errors as well as many other dynamic and varied projects within the department related to Inventory Control and other Supply Chain activities. Your job duties are, but not limited to:

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with others to ensure customer needs are met
  • Tracking of missing materials
  • Cycle counting
  • Working extensively with ERP software and future WMS software to make inventory adjustments
  • Communication with various departments and branches regarding stock, missing products, shipment issues etc.,
  • Dealing with defective/damaged products with manufacturers
  • Coaching staff on procedures and policy’s relating to inventory management
  • Other duties as required

  • Exceptional customer service
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Impeccable organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Time management & multitasking skills to serve several customers at the same time
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Email)
  • Self-motivated; able to function effectively both independently and as a member of a team
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced work environment

Qualifications & Education:

  • Minimum grade 12 education required
  • Minimum two years’ warehouse experience required
  • Experience using Microsoft Office an asset
  • Knowledge of the plumbing industry, or a background in plumbing products including heating would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the electrical industry or a background in electrical products would be considered an asset

Final candidates will be required to undergo an assessment and security screening, including a criminal record check. Employment is subject to screening completion that is satisfactory to Bartle & Gibson.
