Lead Hand Carpenter Job at D.B. Pearce Enterprises Ltd.
We are a busy renovations company looking to hire two new employees to help us keep on schedule. These would be full-time positions. We are open to teaching skills along the way but some prior experience is required. The individuals we hire would be responsible for being either a lead hand or skilled help on renovation projects- the exact scope of work in terms of coordination/daily planning will be determined based on prior experience.
We do everything there is to do with renovations- demolition, framing, drywall/taping, plumbing, carpentry, painting, tile setting, etc. The biggest component of our work is the detail finishing (tile and carpentry).
Requirements:
-Minimum 2 years experience in construction (actually doing the work, not laboring).
-Post-secondary education in a skilled trades program related to what we do is helpful but definitely is not mandatory.
-Valid driver's license and transportation to/from work.
-Must have own basic tools at minimum (belt, hand tools, drill set, skill saw, levels, etc)
-Referrals from previous employer(s) in the construction industry
We are based out of Port Perry but we work all over Durham and York with most of our work being in the Markham/Stouffville/Uxbridge area. Occasionally we travel further either in the city or up north. You must be willing to commute.
3 month probation period and pay will be determined by experience.
