Responsibilities may include:

Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service

Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs

Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments

Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions

Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning

Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware

Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks

Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment

Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes

Monitoring of critical incident and request dashboards or queues.

Monitoring of critical servers and services.

Provide prompt review and response to reported incidents and/or requests.

Resolve incidents and complete requests utilizing excellent customer service skills, problem solving skills, technical thinking/reasoning, and excellent documentation skills.

Using work instructions, and knowledge base to support a broad set of hosting technologies including but not limited to the Apache Tomcat platform, RedHat Enterprise Linux, AWS, and other supporting IT infrastructure.

Drive customer first approach in all service interactions in a dynamic environment while managing competing demands.

Ensure the daily work adheres to departmental and audit/compliance standards, including compliance with service or operational level agreements.

Coordinate effective knowledge transfer during shift turnover when required.

Work with the team, management, and Freightcom Service Owners to create, maintain, and improve the documentation needed by the team for successful execution of daily tasks.

Essential:

Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for more than 6 years and AWS for more than 2 years.

Proficiency working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) like EC2, EMR, EBS, ELB/ALB, ECS, EKS, ECR, KMS, S3, Route 53, RDS, VPC in a highly available and scalable production environment.

Experience with configuring, managing, and supporting AWS environments and services.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar relevant degree

IN depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, Debian, etc.

Hands on experience with MySQL

Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management and concepts

Expert in Shell and/or Python scripting

Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP

Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC) will be considered an advantage

Strong problem solving and communication skills

Knowledge of AWS or any other cloud hosting provider.

Excellent customer service skills.

Strong analytical and problem solving.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential for conversing with other technicians, clients, and managers.

Ability to work in a strong team environment as well as independently.

Flexible to work in 24/7/365.

Ability to perform first level of investigation for alerts using tools/services logs

Ability to follow all Standard Operating procedures Maintenance procedures

Knowledge on operations of application on Cloud

Aware of ITIL process like Incident Change management

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Evenings
  • Monday to Friday
  • On call
  • Weekend availability
