Southland International Trucks Ltd. is seeking to hire a Licensed Heavy Duty CVIP Trailer Technician.

Job summary

Main responsibility is to conduct Commercial Vehicle Inspections under the Alberta CVIP program and complete repairs on heavy duty trailers.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Accurately prepare Alberta CVIP paperwork

Diagnose & complete repairs

Confer with Advisor regarding all repairs and the extent of repairs necessary

Help order material/parts required to complete repairs

Ensure repairs remain within estimate requirements

Responsible to ensure all work is completed in a safe manner

Use computer to input stories, access proper repair procedures, time sheets, materials

Work with all personnel

Act in a courteous manner in order to project a positive company image

Assist with other duties

Requirements

Strong knowledge and experience with Alberta CVIP policies

Hold current CVIP license in Alberta

Willing to learn and take direction

Must be able to communicate well with co-workers

Must have a valid driver’s license (class 5/1 or 3 preferred)

Must be able to work under pressure in some situations

Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies

Work overtime as required

Experience/Education

Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic or Apprentice Cert. (inter-provincial seal preferred)

Previous work experience an asset
