We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Lead Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for mentoring and leading a team of maintenance technicians who install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial equipment in our pulp finishing operating area. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments in support of our One Team - One Goal mentality to safely achieve and maintain overall mill reliability.
Position Overview
- Maintain, lead and promote safety within the department in alignment with MPR’s Road to Zero journey (zero safety incidents).
- Coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas, as well as monitor the operation of Mill equipment and systems applying continuous improvements methods.
- Train and manage the performance of a team of Maintenance Technicians, ensuring tasks are completed safely, accurately and on time.
- Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for improving Mill operations and solving maintenance related problems.
- Track, analyze and improve key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
- Initiate, participate and support in the Management of Change (MOC) and Problem Solving & Decision Making (PSDM) processes.
- Support the Integrity Management System (IMS) requirements for pressure equipment construction.
- Initiate and participate with Incident Investigations to ensure corrective actions are identified and completed.
- Additional duties, as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Additionally, the successful candidate must be an Interprovincial Red Seal Certified Journeyperson, with 5+ years of experience.
- Passion for safety with the ability to effectively coach, develop and lead others.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced team environment with strong problem-solving, organizational and technical abilities.
- High level of initiative, accountability and flexibility.
- Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and a computerized maintenance management system (Avantis) will be considered an asset.

- The successful candidate will receive an hourly rate of $61.46 plus 5% Average Regular Premium (ARP); approximately $134,228.64 annually. This position is also overtime eligible with overtime compensated at double the base hourly rate.
