MANAGER, COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING & EVENTS (BC) AT DIABETES CANADA
Reporting to the Director, Community Fundraising and Events (Western Region), the Manager, Community Fundraising and Events, will build relationships with community stakeholders, community event sponsors, foundations, and community fundraisers in the region raising funds for Diabetes Canada's mission.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Build Relationships with Community Stakeholders
- Achieve or exceed annual revenue targets by identifying, cultivating, and soliciting current donors/ fundraisers (3rd party fundraisers, Lace Up Participants, and, local events and event sponsors).
- Manage and cultivate a diverse portfolio of prospects and develop compelling proposals that will build partnerships and ensure an active prospect pipeline within the Community Fundraising and Events portfolio.
- Manage relationships utilizing Diabetes Canada's management database (D-HUB); records and reports associated with all assigned accounts.
Revenue Achievement
- Work closely with Diabetes Canada's Corporate Partnerships and Major Gift teams to ensure effective coordination of prospects and related activities, including active participation in Diabetes Canada's prospect relationship management system.
- Responsible to develop new partnerships towards annual fundraising targets through creative business development plans.
- Hands on participation in planning and executing all fundraising campaigns activities, events and partnerships.
Team Leader
- Manage a regional-based team of (2) coordinators and ensure they are supported with the tools and processes for them to achieve their revenue targets.
- Coordinate a collaborative working environment with teams within Canada.
KEY COMPETENCIES
- 5+ years in fundraising, events or business development experience.
- Ability to develop, enhance and deliver impactful presentations in a result driven style to various audiences and partnerships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
- Have a strong understanding of the non-profit sector.
- Ability to handle multiple, concurrent issues, projects, and tasks.
- Strong organizational, planning, execution and time management skills.
- Highly relational and excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated professionalism and tact.
- Ability to liaise with a diverse group of stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Post-secondary education with a focus in marketing, business, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated track record of success in fund development and community engagement.
- CFRE designation is an asset.
- Experience using Microsoft Office software applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook) and donor databases.

Compensation
The hiring range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000.
