On behalf of our client, we’re searching for a Manager to join their growing team. Based in Prospect, Total Transport & Rigging is a leader in providing heavy equipment transportation and logistics services.

The Manager is responsible for ensuring a culture of safety is fully imbedded in all aspects of operations. The Manager will be proactive in identifying any areas of health hazards in the workplace and will work diligently to develop systems and procedures to rectify any shortcomings. The Manager will be responsible to address any safety concerns and/or behaviors and maintain all relative documentation, including, but not limited to, incident reports, minutes of safety meetings, insurance claims, fines. In addition to HSE responsibility, the incumbent will be responsible for Owner/Operator Program, the Fleet Maintenance Program and supervising the Service Shop and Yard Operations.

The successful candidate will report directly to the senior leadership team and focus on operational excellence, creating a strong safety culture and ensuring all projects are being delivered on time and within budget. The Manager will lead by example using a positive attitude and team approach to encourage and promote a safe and efficient work culture.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the yard and shop.
• Work with operations to resolve any HSE or compliancy issues.
• Maintain relationships with clients to ensure all compliance and HSE issues are properly documented and actioned in a very timely manner.
• Overseeing and executing any audits, maintenance plans and safety programs
• Assist with hiring and training all new & existing employees.
• Recruitment and management of Owner Operators.
• Address HSE requirements and potential disciplinary actions.
• Deliver site specific safety orientations and assist in the delivery of safety meetings (toolbox meetings to ensure safety is top of mind).
• Perform safety inspections for various construction & transportation projects in the field.
• Assist in the implementation of Job Hazard Assessment and Field Level Risk Assessment worksite audits,
• Assist in incident investigations, claims, fines, and carrier profile.
• Auditing and Maintenance of files required to comply with logbooks, vehicle maintenance etc.
• Work with governmental agencies as required
• Become proficient in satellite usage, for monitoring of speed, hours of service, efficiency, and training purposes.

What We’re Looking For:

As the successful candidate, you have 5+ years of experience working as an operations Manager with a strong background in the safety field, ideally in the transporting and construction industries. You have proven experience managing day to day operations while ensuring projects are completed within timelines and budgets. You have in depth of knowledge of provincial safety regulations along with demonstrated experience creating and influencing positive change in the workplace to achieve successful safety
