As Managing Director of VFS Canada, you will support these goals by providing leadership and direction for the market in Canada to include the development, management and achievement of commercial and profitability targets as well as delivering excellent customer and dealer satisfaction. You’ll achieve this with the support of a high performing and highly engaged team. Your work will support the marketing strategy of Volvo Group brands in your market while managing the strategic integration and alignment between VFS and the brands, specifically Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks, Volvo Construction Equipment and Prevost & Nova Buses.
How you will make an impact
As a member of the VFS Region North America Executive Management team, you will be responsible for the management and governance of VFS Canada. You will systematically oversee commercial activity, managed assets, operating income, expenses, investments and headcount to ensure optimal business performance throughout the business cycle. The Managing Director also leads the preparation and coordination of the annual operational plan in line with VFS strategic objectives.
As an experienced business leader, you know that people are the most important assets. You can successfully build recruitment, retention and development strategies to ensure business success. You will passionately develop the captive finance company culture, aligning the roles and responsibilities of the VFS team toward customer success and sustainable performance. You will provide direction, motivation and professional development to your direct reports and support their leadership activities.
In this role, you will ensure compliance and adherence to VFS and Volvo Group corporate policies, legislative standards and local regulatory requirements across all aspects of the business. You will also responsibly act as a local legal representative for necessary legal obligations.
Who are you?
You are an experienced leader within the financial services industry, with 10-15 years of progressive management experience and executive guidance. You have demonstrated success in leading and developing a comprehensive team of employees. In addition to the above, bring expertise in capital equipment and proven experience in financing through dealer networks. Ideally, your areas of equipment expertise include heavy truck, construction equipment and/or bus industries. This experience is the foundation for your solid knowledge and understanding of the asset finance industry as well as your understanding of the regulatory, compliance and international requirements of the local market. Your strong business and financial acumen includes 3-5 years of experience with full profit and loss responsibility for a finance company or division. You are target-driven, results-oriented and self-motivated and leverage those qualities to drive long term business success, capture of market opportunities and support of Volvo Group brand sales.
A confident public speaker, you also demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence at all levels – internally and externally. In your interactions, you exhibit courage, high personal integrity and a willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.
