Position: Mental Health Worker (Full-Time) - Drop-In Program

Salary & Compensation: $26.42 per hour + benefits

Hours of Work:

Monday to Wednesday: 8:00AM to 4:00PM and Saturday & Sunday: 9:00AM to 5:00PM

Job Summary:

In accordance with The Kettle Society values, the Mental Heal Worker - Drop-In is responsible for the day to day delivery of psychosocial recreational and life skills programs to Kettle members.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Community Social Services – Mental Health (or related)
  • Two-years experience in a mental health setting including community work experience and volunteer work (or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 certificate (or equivalent)
  • Valid Food Safe Level 1 certificate

Abilities & Skills:

  • Ability to work with people with a mental illness
  • Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients
  • Knowledge of housing issues and community resources
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients, staff, management and collateral service providers
  • Have an understanding of Psycho-social Rehabilitation (PSR) and Concurrent Disorders
  • Conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
  • Ability to work with the harm reduction model
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
  • Ability to operate related equipment
  • Ability to organize and prioritize

As per the PHO, you must have received both doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine in order to work at our organization. An approved COVID-19 vaccine passport must be presented at the time of hire.
