The Nourish and Develop Foundation (TNDF) is a non-profit organization located in Cannington, Ontario which aims to enhance local food security and promote self-reliance through collaborative programs and partnerships that deliver lasting solutions and life-long learning. Women’s Services is a department of TNDF that provides support to women who are at risk of violence, homelessness, and poverty.

Position summary
Under the general direction of the Women’s Services Director, the Operations Coordinator provides support for the day-to-day operations, program development and clinical operations for women in the transitional housing program, second-stage housing program, and assists with the development and operation of the emergency shelter.

Hours/schedule
40 hours a week. Standard office hours are Monday – Friday from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm, however evening and/or weekend shifts will be required for this role, with advance notice given.

Essential duties and responsibilities
· Provide coordination of formal and informal daily programming for residents
· Manage the referral system for clients who need specific treatment or services
· Supervise case management for individuals
· Supervise interviewing, assessment, crisis intervention, long and short-term goal setting, problem solving, behavioral management for clients
· Development of new programming for clients and residents
· Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for both residents and staff
· Ensure proper maintenance of the physical site in compliance with Brock Township and agency regulations
· Maintain accurate programmatic documentation such as fire drills, incident reports, daily logs, progress notes, and any other documentation required
· Implement all program safety procedures
Minimum qualifications and experience
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least two years’ experience in a similar position or responsibility preferred
· Must understand domestic violence and sexual violence issues and the role of advocacy within support structures and the legal system
· Ability to implement and utilize limit setting techniques and appropriate boundaries
· Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and management skills
· Extensive knowledge of community resources
· Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Applications
· Ability to work independently and relate to all levels of the organization
· Excellent communication skills, conflict resolution skills, supervision skills
· Working knowledge of the issues impacting women in shelter, including violence against women, mental health, homelessness, and addictions
· Demonstrated crises intervention training and experience
· A First Aid certificate is required
· Candidate must undergo a criminal record check
