Role Summary

The role of Lifeguard at Simeon Park of Magna International Inc. is responsible for instructing swimming lessons and supervising recreational swimming activities to ensure the safety of all patrons. In addition to this, Lifeguards are also required to act as Park Attendants when needed to help maintain the park grounds and guest services. This position reports directly to the Pool Supervisor and the Office and Property Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise recreational swim activities to ensure the safety of all patrons
• Perform rescues/first aid as required
• Instruct swimming classes
• Complete pool and park maintenance
• Provides support with Gatehouse and Guest Services

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Skills and Competencies Required

• National Lifeguard Certification (NLS)

• First Aid & CPR Certification

Knowledge and Education

• Must be enrolled in a university or college program

Work Experience

• Prior experience as a Lifeguard is an asset

Work Environment

• Outdoors
• Must be available to work on weekends
• 40 hours per week on one of two shifts (9 AM – 6 PM or 12 PM – 9 PM depending on the day)
• Some flexibility in the number of work hours per week may be available upon request
