About the Role
The People and Culture Coordinator plays a role in multiple functions at commonsku, spanning administration, events, employee experience, and recruitment. It is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to explore their career options, looking for exposure to HR, Administration, or the tech industry in general!
This role is remote but our ideal candidate is based in Toronto. The People and Culture Coordinator has responsibilities tied to our HQ location so the ability to commute to the office is key.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Employee Experience
- Supporting culture, engagement, and employee experience through events, including social events, employee summits, team off-sites, and the like by managing logistics (hotel arrangements, catering and refreshments, booking activities) and more
- Arranging gifts for employee birthdays and other major life events
HR
- Supporting the new hire onboarding process, including coordinating equipment, managing paperwork, and assisting managers in coordinating onboarding schedules
- Managing job postings in our HRIS (Collage HR), on our website, and on external recruitment sites
- Conducting references checks
- Assisting in screening applications based on job requirements
- Scheduling and managing interviews for hiring managers and other stakeholders
- Updating and managing data in our HRIS, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
Office Management
- Managing the office space including ordering supplies (office, cleaning, and kitchen), managing storage spaces, keeping things looking fresh, and coordinating with base building regarding maintenance or facility issues
- Acting as first point of contact for the space, both for employees and guests
Executive Support
- Supporting our co-founders with travel arrangements, events, and calendar management when needed
And other special projects, depending on your interests, skills, and growth path!

- You are an excellent communicator - whether it is one-on-one, in a presentation, in writing, or over video, you are are able to communicate clearly and effectively
- You have the proven ability to manage confidential information
- You have an awareness of diversity, inclusion, and belonging (DIB)
- You have some previous experience in an administration or coordinator role - but if you don’t, that’s okay too!
