About the role:
As ChargeLab’s Senior/Lead PeopleOps (HR) Business Partner you will act as a champion for the company culture and will support the company executives and team leaders. We want to make ChargeLab one of the best places to work. The Senior/Lead PeopleOps (HR) Business Partner will play a critical role in defining, measuring and ensuring achievement of that goal and overall company success. This includes development and implementation of people strategies, policies, programs and other initiatives that generate investment in our team. As the Senior/Lead PeopleOps (HR) Business Partner you will be responsible for helping ChargeLab’s exceptional team to scale and support the organization as it continues to experience rapid growth.

Lead PeopleOps Business Partner responsibilities
Enhance core People processes:
- Utilize tools to ensure ChargeLab has an effective approach to total compensation that is fair and equitable across the organization
- Collaborate with Leadership to create programs and policies to unlock top performance from our employees in a manner that’s aligned with ChargeLab’s values and long-term interests. Programs and policies will include:
- Remote work policies / budgets
- Social media policies
- Evolving COVID policies
- In-person gatherings
- Leave of absences
- Sexual harassment training
- Diversity and Inclusion initiatives (in partnership with Talent Acquisition)
- Visa sponsorship
- Own and evolve the employee handbook
- Administer organizational compliance with federal, provincial, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters (e.g., new employee filings, W9s, international hires / contractors via our PEO, etc)
- Implement stage-adjusted people processes
Implement performance management and maximize employee engagement:
- Design the ChargeLab experience from onboarding through career development/learning to offboarding
- Create processes and norms for team members to follow as the office becomes readily available for collaboration, meeting and/or working space
Develop a strong pulse on company culture and morale:
- Create new strategies for developing listening posts and “leading indicators” of company happiness and/or other issues within the business
- Partner with Exec team and champion cross functional initiatives that impact culture and values
The ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge of the critical components of a successful HR department including employment law, performance management, resolving conflict, having difficult conversations, employee engagement, training, maintaining employee files, and managing operational budgets
- Well-developed writing and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly across all levels of an organization
- Discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to listen, analyze and inform appropriately while maintaining the required sensibilities in handling confidential information
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving, reporting and analytical skills
- Bias for action, strong work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence
- True team player vibes and experience, along with a track record of strategic partnering with business leaders on multi-year company or org-wide people initiatives or projects
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of people operations experience with at least 1-2 years in a leadership capacity and a track record of getting things done
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices and practical application in the workplace across multiple states/provinces in the US and Canada
- Experience with payroll systems
- Worked with PEOs and outsourced employment providers to deliver a high-quality work environment
- Degree in human resources, or other relevant field
