Macdonell Photography is an established portrait and event photography studio servicing the entire GTA. We are a high end studio servicing special clients. Service and quality is our normal. We are agile, professional and innovative. We have our own lab and in-house production facilities.

The Position

This photographer position is for a professional, experienced, talented, energetic and client-centric photographer. The successful candidate is hard working and is reliable and consistent even when under pressure. A good understanding of artificial lighting in addition to natural light.

You have you own camera gear (we are Nikon, Canon and Hasselblad/Phase One shooters) and lighting kit (with a preference for external flash units). We can provide additional site-specific equipment for specific jobs. You have experience in portraits as well as documentary and/or candid photography.

We will train with workshop and demonstrations. The photographer will also be responsible for keeping up to date with the latest trends and technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Take photos of events, subjects, and people.
• Articulate ideas through the use of photography.
• Collaborate with clients to determine their needs and expectations.

Requirements:

• Education in Photography/Media Arts or equivalent work experience
• Previous experience shooting weddings and/or events
• Own camera gear (e.g. full frame DSLR, medium format or equivalent), variety of lenses, flash lighting kit, external light meter etc.
• Valid Drivers license and access to a vehicle
• Ability to communicate and excellent interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
• Previous knowledge of CaptureOne considered an asset
• Experience with printing considered an asset

Job Type: Freelance

Salary: $50.00-$100.00 per hour
