The Project Engineer - Electrical will be based out of Dieppe, New Brunswick (102 Dawson Street, Dieppe, E1A 0C1) and is a key member of the maintenance team. This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects. They are accountable for successful completion of assigned projects, ensuring regular contact with all assigned stakeholders’ both internal and external to the company. Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, the Project Engineer - Electrical works both independently as well as with the Maintenance Leaders, Maintenance Technicians, Planners, Stores Personnel, Production Teams, and Engineers. This is a permanent, full-time position. The primary language of work is English.

Job Requirements
  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in a related Engineering discipline. Electrical engineering is preferred.
  • Experience Required: 2+ years of relevant experience, experience in a manufacturing maintenance or electrical engineering is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and guideline is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work in a team environment. Must have an elevated level of professionalism and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office programs is required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Sharepoint and able to manage a multitude of software applications (Pi, PLC/HMI software, etc.) would be beneficial.
  • Analytical and detail oriented with a high level of commitment and self-motivation.
  • Working knowledge of a computerized maintenance management system is an asset, JD Edwards experience is a plus.

The main duties/responsibilities of this role include:
  • Involved in cross functional teams from quality, safety and converting to drive business initiatives.
  • Ensure any proposed installation fits within existing structures as required and engage the services of external engineering firms.
  • Ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants.
  • Management and coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects; plans, schedules, and coordinates assigned personnel and engineering work; monitors work for compliance to project requirements, applicable standards, and accepted engineering practices.
  • Responsible & accountable to ensure all assigned personnel are coordinating activities with other participants and that customer requirements are being achieved or exceeded.
  • Actively participate in writing specifications, researching, and selecting suppliers and materials, and ordering preliminary studies as required.
  • Interaction with vendors and machinery manufacturers.
  • Would be involved in OT/IT network infrastructure and security.
  • Lead and participate in root cause failure analysis.
  • Relief to the Electrical Coordinator when needed.
