DMC Recruitment Group is working exclusively with a buildings materials manufacturer to hire a Purchasing Manager to assist with continued growth of this organization.

Our client:
Our client is a well-established manufacturer of building materials. They are a leader in their industry and continue to grow. They have a wonderful company culture.

The role:
Your role would be to purchase materials and supplies, manage budgets, follow guidelines and deal with vendors.

As part of a strong team, you will play a key role in developing commercial relationships with new vendor partners and maximizing the opportunity with many more existing vendor relationships. You will work closely with them to design programs that are attractive to your dealer members and ensure that both the vendor and dealer base is enjoying a commercially profitable relationship. You will be accountable for negotiating best-in-class pricing, ensuring dealers get prioritized access to vendor inventory and that rebate programs provide adequate incentive for both vendor and dealer.

The candidate:
The candidate must have high-level purchasing experience, must be a quick thinker who is always being proactive.

In order to be successful, you also must be an excellent communicator and team player.

With all the changes in the industry, this manager must be proactive and be on the pulse of the changings within the industry.

The ideal candidate will come from the building materials industry. They will be familiar with the products and major brands within the industry and will have had some responsibility for purchasing in their past. Candidates from manufacturers, building material supply dealers, big box organizations, and other buying groups will all be considered.

You should have proven negotiation skills, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and an ability to analyze numbers. Computer literacy is important.
