Quality Control Aggregate Lab Assistant – Job Description
William Day Construction is excited to offer a position working as a Quality Control Aggregate Lab Assistant. We are looking for a hard-working independent person who is working towards or just completed a Civil Engineering Diploma or looking to start a career with an aggregate producer that is heavily involved in the mining industry. We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
the successful candidates work will consist of:
- The preparation, extraction and analysis various aggregate samples
- General lab maintenance.
- Maintain reports.
- Accurately enter test data and Information.
- Other duties that may be delegated or required from time to time at the direction of the management team.
- Provide reactive and proactive solutions to any issues that may arise.
- Assist Team Leaders in day to day activities.
- Maintain Terms of References, Standard Operation Procedures and Policies and Procedures
Knowledge and Applied Skills:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including attention to detail, and ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and deal with conflicting priorities and work demands.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to support the department’s activities.
- College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline.
- Must demonstrate initiative and have the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and strong interpersonal skills are required
