Position Title: RECE
Reports to: Principal
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, within the hours of 7 am – 6 pm
Compensation: Compensation will be determined by their level of experience. Health and Dental Benefits are available after 3 months of employment, vacation time, and wellness days are available.

Responsibilities:

• The primary responsibility of the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) is to co-ordinate and lead her/his team in planning and implementing a program that provides for the optimal physical, cognitive, social, and emotional wellbeing of the children in her/his care.
• Works cooperatively as a team member, encourages others to do likewise, and consistently maintains a positive attitude.
• Takes the responsibility to maintain ratios in own rooms with the designated person in charge as well as monitoring ratios and making adjustments.
• Delegates, in a professional manner, to team members, volunteers, and students and consistently assumes the appropriate level of leadership.
• Takes initiative in completing tasks without direction.
• Directs and participates with children in all planned activities.
• Effectively supervises children on all scheduled school walks, field trips, and other outings.
• Completes children’s Progress Reports as scheduled.
• Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff, and volunteers.
• Attends and contributes to staff meetings and in-house professional development whether during or after regular work hours.
• Maintains confidentiality of clients, co-workers, and the center as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• An ECE diploma from a recognized Ontario college
• Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators
• Up-to-date First Aid and CPR
• Up-to-date Immunization and 2 tiered TB test
• Strengths in organizational skills, communication skills, parent education, and leadership
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Confident and flexible professionalism
• Love of outdoors
