Grove Park Home is a not for profit and charitable organization that is comprised of 143 Long Term Care Beds, a boutique retirement property, and an Adult Day Program. The Resident Attendant reports to the RPN directly, to the RN, Director of Care and Assistant Director of Care or designate indirectly. The Resident Attendant will receive guidance and direction from the PSW, RPN, the RN, Director of Care, Assistant Director of Care or designate. The Resident Attendant is accountable for providing support to the operations of the Nursing Department and to the residents by providing companionship and assistance to the Residents in a manner that is consistent with Grove Park Home’s Vision and Mission Statements. Responsibilities will be resident centered, and adhere to the policy and procedures of Grove Park Home, the accepted practices as they relate to the provision of care, the Long Term Care Guidelines and all other applicable regulations and guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:

• Minimum grade eleven or equivalent
• mandatoryValid Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Experience working with the elderly or in a healthcare setting – an asset

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

• Capable of working in a fast paced, team environment
• Ability to work with a complex and diverse elderly population including chronic illness and functional and cognitive impairments.
• Communicate with others in an effective, compassionate and supportive manner
• Able to work night shifts 10pm-6am
