Job Title: OPDL Head Coach

Reports To: High-Performance Manager Terms of Employment: Part-time


Founded in 1968, Richmond Hill Soccer Club (RHSC) is a National Youth Club and OPDL License holder.
We have nearly 5,000 participants currently playing soccer and provide year-round development
programs for players, coaches and referees. Our professional staff with qualifications and experience of
international scope enable us to take pride in being a leader in community soccer development.


Location:
  • 1370 Elgin Mills Road East
Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada
  • Additional work will be required at soccer fields or sports facilities around Richmond Hill and

Ontario, as required by the Club and the Ontario Player Development League

Job Summary:
• The OPDL Head Coach is responsible for providing leadership and overseeing development for one

of our Club’s OPDL teams
  • The position has both administrative and technical responsibilities
  • This position manages all aspects of the OPDL team, including games, practices, team, coaches
and parent meetings and off-field activities.
  • Full season planning and its implementation.


Responsibilities:

Technical
• Attend all OPDL training sessions in compliance with the OPDL pre-planned schedule.
  • Ensure that all training follows the Ontario Soccer LTPD matrix guidelines.
  • Select players suitable for the program in consultation with the Technical Director and High-
Performance Manager.
  • Prepare for and conduct practice sessions for teams and players according to LTPD recommended
curriculum and practice to game ratios.
  • Ensure that sessions are conducted in a safe environment with appropriate equipment and
supervision.
  • Recognize that all actions must be conducted in the best interest of each player.
  • Conduct game analysis for review with players.
  • Work with other teams and coaches within your age group.
  • Encourage and support the movement of players to the appropriate age and development stage

Coaching Development
• Help to mentor an Assistant Coach
  • Work closely with other age group coaches to help identify and develop players

Administration
• Administer and coordinate the Club’s policies
  • Agree to adhere to all published OPDL rules including, but not limited to:
  • OPDL Technical Manual
  • OPDL Operations Manual
  • OPDL Code of Conduct
  • Follow all OPDL Game Day procedures, including completion of game sheets, players substitutions
and any other procedures required by the OPDL

Customer Service
• Support the vision and philosophy of the Club and assist in providing membership satisfaction
  • Participate in all OPDL related events
  • Have a positive attitude towards the RHSC and the OPDL program with Ontario Soccer

Qualifications and Experience Required
• Strong management and Leadership skills
  • Canada Soccer Youth Licence completed (preferred) or current enrollment in the Youth Licence
course (acceptable)
  • Canada Soccer National B Licence (Part 2) completed or current UEFA B Licence (acceptable)
  • Previous coach mentoring experience
  • Experience working with competitive/high-performance players
  • Valid driver’s license and accessibility to a vehicle
  • CRB Police Check (Police Vulnerable Sector Check)
  • Eligible to work in Canada


Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
