The Site Foreman will facilitate the work on site ensuring everyone works safely and goes home healthy at the end of each day. Working with the superintendent and other foremen, the Site Foreman has a challenging job of ensuring productivity while never compromising the health and safety of others. A keen an observant eye with a strong technical competence and likeable character are what will set this candidate apart.

Job responsibilities:

• Review subcontractor’s documentation for accuracy and provide feedback to personnel
• Ensure daily man power is managed and efficient
• Forecast labour
• Help and assist in the work where required by the Ste Superintendent
• Assist in the planning and start-up of new projects
• Inventory safety related training of subcontractor’s workers; conduct new worker safety orientations
• Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks. Gather similar meeting minutes from all subcontractors
• Keep management current on the status of any issue(s) that may impact on the work being performed
• Prepare site safety plans
• Promote safe working conditions
• Enforce safety regulations, safe work practices and safe job procedures
• Conduct hazard assessments
• Maintain and prepare thorough documentation and reports
• Provide First Aid coverage as required by the Project.
• Participate in daily safety interactions, including performing and documenting daily safety inspections (including tools/equipment) and auditing to ensure adherence to standards.
• Facilitate and participate in incident investigations and risk assessments, as required.
• Ensure that all accidents, incidents and injuries are properly reported to all appropriate parties.
• In collaboration with the Safety Manager, provide regular worksite safety training for all employees including new worker orientation, sub-contractor orientation and topics such as WHMIS, company policies and procedures, lockout, respirator fit tests, hearing tests, etc.
• Coordinate Safety Data Sheet library for controlled products.

Job prerequisites and qualifications:

• Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office applications including Outlook and Word
• Red Seal Carpenter
• Occupational First Aid Level 2 or Level 3
• Experience in a Site Foreman role in a multifamily high-rise residential environment
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) are required
• Positive attitude and a desire to help others

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
