Opportunity to join the high-growth B2B team within Visa, Visa Business Solutions (VBS), to help drive the Product function across Canada and the US. VBS is a critical pillar of the Visa strategy to drive New Flows growth in the coming years.
This role will work closely with VBS NA Product team across a variety of strategic projects within North America to help grow the VBS business team members in Canada on Small Business Product Initiatives.
The NA VBS Product team is a unique regional product team, with a mandate to take Visa’s assets, platforms, and tools – and package solutions for the Canadian and US markets. For example, a live project is creating a product solution targeted at serving the construction segment.
Responsibilities:
- Support project workstreams related to Visa’s small business segment strategy
- Support solving business problems, collaborating, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to make recommendations on a wide range of business initiatives
- Build out unique, creative, and impactful solutions by working closely with our cross-functional and NA Product team on strategic projects, bringing timely and useful insight and analytical support.

Business as Usual Activities
- Creation of go-to-market (GTM) materials – have influence over the Small Business approach, development and deployment
- Support client and prospect conversations – both issuing banks and FinTech’s
- Industry knowledge and insights – what are the key trends in Small Business? Deep dive into different industries to understand challenges and needs
Example Sample Projects
- Support product strategy including market needs, opportunity size and industry insights and research.
- Support the creation of Visa core product constructs by optimizing business focused offers, tools, and resources to help businesses be more efficient with their day-to-day business management.
- Our partners leverage our APIs to create innovative experiences. Support the development of go-to-market material include sales decks, tear sheets and customer journeys on SMB-relevant APIs such as Visa Business Data Solutions, Visa Transaction Controls, Visa Token Service, Visa Card Eligible Service, Visa Merchant Offers Resource Center.
- Support the development training material for Client Enablement and Account Executives and coordinating training sessions for teams.
- Collaborate with the NA Product team and Global partners to update client facing material, ensure continued upkeep with material available to AE’s and develop opportunities to further enhance training of tools in the Canadian market.
Internship Duration: 12 – 16 weeks, starting May 2023
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a master's or MBA degree
- Graduating December 2023 or later
- Strong communications skills, clear and concise written and spoken communications, and communications that demonstrate professional judgment.
- The ideal candidate is a highly analytical individual with previous business experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the payments industry not required, but a plus
- Ability to independently work on projects with multiple workstreams, with success over a wide variety of functional business problems
- Ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, attention to detail and ability to structure and analyze sophisticated financial modeling
- Experience working with economic theories, strategic and prioritization frameworks, scenarios analysis, and competitive assessments. Knowledge of payment industry revenue drivers a plus.
- Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a 'peer' with functional and regional leaders within Visa
- Commitment to continuous training and improvement of employees throughout the corporate strategy function
- Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
- Curiosity in payments technology and its future, experience in payments is a plus but not required
