Kelowna City FC is seeking energetic and motivated candidates to join our Academy Coaching Staff for 2023. We're looking for individuals who love the game of soccer to help develop players in the Okanagan region. As the partner club of Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the Okanagan area, coaches will work under the Whitecaps Okanagan Head Coach.
Our coaches will be asked to work with groups between the ages of 4 and 14 in different aspects of the game. Physical Literacy, Individual Skill Development as well as team and game-play are cornerstones of our programming. We provide curriculum, lesson plans, mentoring and a comprehensive internal coaching education platform to help coaches succeed and grow.
Coaches need knowledge of and a passion for the game, prior/current playing experience is considered an asset. If you are selected to join the staff, there is an expectation that you will pursue coaching certification (reimbursed by Kelowna City FC) at our direction should you not have any certifications.
Compensation will depend on previous experience, certifications as well as the programs which you are assigned to.
Coaches must also present us with a completed up-to-date police clearance in order to be hired for any positions. Please note that an in-progress police clearance will not be deemed sufficient to begin work.
At the present time, we are also ONLY looking for candidates who either reside in the Okanagan area or will reside in the area in Winter/Spring/Summer 2023 We will NOT be looking to relocate coaches to the area at the present time.
