Network Infrastructure
The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.
Education Recommendations
Currently a candidate for master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Communications degree, etc. or related field with an accredited school in Canada.
What you will learn and contribute to
As part of our team, you will:
- Develop and execute sophisticated software tests to verify conformance of feature(s) functionality implemented by Engineering against requirements specifications laid out by Product Marketing.
- Perform quality assurance tests to ensure completion of Nuage VSP Features and interact extensively with software, hardware, and firmware teams.
- Participate in system design so that Quality Assurance is considered throughout the entire lifecycle of the Nuage VSP Feature Set
- Automate test cases using in-house TCL & Python based infrastructure and maintain them. Enhance the automation infrastructure if the tests require that
- Enhance Test strategies, Automation & Build infrastructure with feedback and analysis from real-world Customer deployments
What is Nokia looking for from me
You have:
- Currently pursuing Master's Degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Telecommunication or equivalent.
- Experience in IP networking testing and troubleshooting
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, and ability to work well in a close-knit team
- Background in Layer 2 or Layer 3 VPN technologies (VxLAN, MPLS, VPLS, IP-VPN, mVPN)
- Experience with Virtualized Switching Products such as OpenVswitch or Nexus 1000v
- Server Virtualization expertise with KVM, Containers/Docker, and Vmware ESXi is a huge plus.
- A detailed understanding of layer 4-7 protocols such as HTTP, FTP, or DNS is required.
- Exposure to Cloud Management tools such as OpenStack, CloudStack, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, and HyperV would be a plus.
- Strong scripting/Programming Skills in Python, Tcl, Shell
- Strong interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills are required· The candidate must be able to successfully work in close-knit teams
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment
