Reports To: Director, Client and Advisor Care
Department: Individual Operations Management
Term: Part time until December 2023 (ability to go full time during the summer break from school)
Schedule: 15 to 20 hours per week, flexible days
Work Arrangements: We are currently working remotely, and we will be moving to a hybrid model when our office renovation is complete (approximately September 2023), coming into the office about 25% of the time.
The Opportunity: We are looking for a detail-oriented student to join us our Claims team on a part-time basis. As the Claims Support Student, you would be responsible for supporting the Claims team for basic tasks and adhoc projects.

What you will be doing:
  • Triage incoming emails to the Claims team to prioritize work, provide status updates, send forms and identify escalations or complex issues as required
  • Process follow up request to Advisors, Claimants and Third Parties for information to proceed with claim
  • Process admin tasks as required for claims team
  • May also be required as time permits to aid in:
  • Processing changes to Advisor contract information on the Fasat System for MGAs, AGAs, Producer Groups and Advisors
  • Processing basic Agent of Record Changes and Block Transfers on Life and Annuity policies on Fasat, Ingenium and Vax
  • Processing override changes, banking and pay instruction changes
  • Update initial and renewal Licenses and E&O information for MGAs, Producer Groups and Advisors
  • Process terminations on Fasat as directed by EL Compliance Officer, Insurance Councils and MGAs
  • Independent project work as required
  • Daily maintenance of dashboard information

  • Enrolled in post-secondary education
  • Analytical mindset; we are looking for someone who enjoys working with numbers
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working with tight deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Great customer service etiquette paired with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft 360 applications including Word and Excel
  • Ability to support team goals and targets combined with ability to work independently
  • Key attention to detail and a focus on maintaining accuracy
