Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) is an 84 bed hospital located in Collingwood, Ontario (approximately 90 minutes north of Toronto) that serves more than 74,000 permanent residents and 3.5 Million annual visitors to the communities of Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Clearview and the Blue Mountains. CGMH is an acute care hospital providing emergency care, diagnostic services including lab, imaging and cardio respiratory therapy, as well as two inpatient units (medicine and surgery). In addition, CGMH also provides care in specialty areas including obstetrics, orthopaedics, intensive care and surgery. The Hospital also provides out patient care including dialysis and a wide range of clinics including mental health and rehabilitation services. CGMH continues to provide care close to home for our community and plays a key role as an integrated orthopaedic centre for our region. The Opportunity:
CGMH is currently looking for a Technical Support Specialist who will support our dynamic team by providing first tier remote and on-site support to end users with CGMH’s desktops, laptops, telecommunications, networking, and server infrastructure.
Reporting to the Manager, Health Information Technology, the Technical Support Specialist blends strong analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills to deliver superior customer service experience for CGMH’s end users.
Qualifications:

- College Graduate or Equivalent work experience
- Similar experience in a technical support capacity and/or IT department would be considered an asset
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to multi-task
- Knowledge of Windows 10 and Office 365 applications
- Knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and concepts would be considered an asset
- Must strive to continuously provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, physicians, and volunteers
- Must adhere to the duties of workers, as stipulated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Must have an ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) in the English language in order to provide excellent communication with team members, patients, and families.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide IT Service Desk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction
- Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT service desk
- Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process based on priority
- Utilize and maintain the ticket tracking software
- Assist with onboarding and setup of new users
- Manage thin client setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware images and software
- Assign and maintain users and computers with proper permissions
- Ensure each workstation has a computer, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, and any additional specialized equipment
- Movement of users and equipment as required
- Install, test, and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment, and software
- Maintain inventory of all equipment, software, and software licenses
- Report and escalate issues as required
- Document internal procedures
- Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours weekly. Please be reminded that as a Hospital, in order to provide the necessary patient care, our operations run 24/7. Therefore, depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work weekdays and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.
Wage: $23.71 – $27.49 per hour.
