Our Operations department is looking for a high-energy, out-of-the-box thinker. The ideal candidate requires a solid understanding of electronics with a hands-on approach to test and to qualify a wide variety of Optical, Electrical and Wireless (CDMA) Telecom Cards in an active Lab Environment. This is a day shift position, Monday to Friday. Some overtime may be required.

Responsibilities:

• Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of product or services, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency
• Help identify failures to assist debug and repair of sub-standard assemblies to the card or FRU (field replaceable unit level)
• Have knowledge of Sonet, SDH, ATM and IP related platforms
• Have knowledge of hi level software and low level (firmware) and how it applies to the commissioning and provisioning of network elements and line cards for traffic simulation testing
• Experience in an optical and/or wireless test environment an asset
• Maintain relevant documentation and revision status of electronic production units
• Assist in development of test procedures, jigs and fixtures for testing new products and sub-assemblies

Education & Experience:

• Electronic Technician/Technologist Diploma or Equivalent Years’ Experience in the Electronics Repair Field.
• 3-5 years relevant work experience within the telecom industry

• Contribute to the development of process and procedural documents. Ability to document clearly & concisely will be essential.

• Ability to prioritize and complete work in a timely fashion. This is a fast-paced quick turnaround environment.
