Vocational Rehabilitation Service Specialist (Vocational RSS)

As a Vocational RSS, you will work remotely as part of WCG’s team delivering the Rehabilitation Services and Vocational Assistance Program (RSVP) across Canada on behalf of Veterans Affairs Canada. This team makes a difference in the lives of Canada’s Veterans, their families, and communities by providing Rehabilitation Services. RSVP is delivered in partnership with Lifemark and WCG Services.

As part of a strong and professional team, you make a difference at the personal and community level by ensuring Veterans achieve their vocational and medical/psychosocial rehabilitation goals, by providing support.
What you’ll do
- Provides exceptional responsiveness and time management to achieve program goals and targets
- Coordinates and implements effective rehabilitation services to improve Participant’s function in the six functional areas and reduce/eliminate the barriers to re-establishment
- Ensures Participants achieve meaningful and sustainable improvements in their Quality of Life through engagement in the Rehabilitation Services and Vocational Assistance Program
- Works collaboratively with Job Developers and Rehabilitation Service Professionals in a multi-disciplinary approach
- Facilitates communication and coordination among members of PCVRS’ interdisciplinary team to enhance services, maintain safety and achieve positive outcomes
What you bring
Essential Requirements:
- Must hold one of the following designations:A current designation as a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Services
- Professional (CVRP) or a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Services Professional– Fellow (CVRP-F); ORIn Québec, Career Counsellors registered with the Ordre des conseillers etconseillères d'orientation du Québec.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the direct provision of medical, psycho social or vocational rehabilitation services (or a combination thereof) to Participantsincluding the following:Experience in conducting medical, psycho-social, or vocational rehabilitation assessments.Experience working with persons living with mental or physical health problems creating barriers to civilian life;
- Experience analyzing and interpreting medical, psycho-social, or vocational assessments and making recommendations based upon critical analysis of information leading to the development of a comprehensive plan and program of care
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with a variety of health professionals and disciplines in an interdisciplinary team environment
- Employment conditional on obtaining federal security clearance – Reliability Status.
- A reliable vehicle and the ability to travel
