John Ross & Sons Ltd. is the largest scrap metal recycling facility in Atlantic Canada and we are committed to exceeding our customer's expectations. We are currently seeking an energetic and safety minded Welder to join our ever expanding team. Previous experience (5+ years preferred) is a must. The worksite operates Monday through Saturday.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Operate semi-automatic welding equipment to weld metal segments using processes such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), pre-heating, tack welding, and flame cutting

· Welding, fabrication, and repair of various equipment

· Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment

· Perform minor repairs to equipment

· Ensure deficiencies are noted and reported to proper manager

· Maintain clean work environment

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Good communication skills

· Completion of college or technical training

· Safety Minded

· 5+ years’ experience

Please note that this is a remote location and there is no public transportation available. Qualified applicants will be required to have their own reliable transportation to and from work.

Rate of Pay: To be negotiated, depending on experience.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 630am-530pm; Saturday 7am-12pm ( can be discussed). Overtime as required.
