The position of Director, Partners Worldwide Canada (Dir. PWC) serves the critical role of major donor development and volunteer recruitment in Canada to secure the financial and human resources needed to support our global partnership network. Our unique partnership model mobilizes long-term, hands-on global relationships to form a powerful Christian network that is working to create flourishing economic environments around the world. This position will contribute to the mission by increasing, strengthening, and diversifying Partners Worldwide’s funding sources by growing the financial support provided by existing major donors and developing new major donor relationships. The primary responsibility of the Dir. PWC is to ensure the organization has the human and financial resources to fulfill the mission and vision of Partners Worldwide (PW).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Engagement Role
- Increase the annual financial support provided by an assigned group of major donors to strengthen their commitment for the work of PW
- Establish relationships with new major donors to engage with PW supporting our work at a global, regional or partnership level. A new donor development goal will be established each year.
- Facilitate the development of Worldwide and Regional Fund donors in a designated territory at a major gift level of $5,000 or greater
- Recruit Christian businesspeople to become engaged as Business Affiliates, Mentors or Subject Matter Experts within the Partnership Model of Partners Worldwide. Specific objectives will be assigned each year.
- Continuous development and management of a major donor and Business Affiliate prospect pipeline, following our four-step prospect development process – qualification, cultivation, invitation and stewardship.
- Develop donors at all stages including the area of planned giving and estate planning.
- Collaborate with the Regional Directors to raise the necessary funds for their regional budgets.
- Work with the Regional Director’s to develop plans to serve and support the existing Business Affiliates (volunteers) engaged in our regional partnerships.
- Ensure that all donor contacts and activities are logged into the PW contact management system (CRM) in a timely manner.
- Ensure regular communication with all major donors and major donor prospects updating them on the impact of their support and sharing stories of transformation from the field.
- Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events.
- Represent PW at select conferences and events to raise awareness and support for our work.
- Other duties as assigned.
Management & Supervisor Role
- Accountable for proper administration and compliance with Canada Revenue Agency standards
- Provide leadership and support for Canadian staff and volunteers
- Maintain close relationship and alignment with PW’s Global Service Center
- Provide regular updates and reports to Canada BoD Chair and Directors including AGM and annual budget approval meetings.
Qualifications:
- High energy and passion for PW's vision and mission is essential
- Relational, people-focused person
- Experience in fundraising and a background in sales and business preferred
- Demonstrated ability in cultivating existing and establishing new donor/volunteer relationships
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated ability to speak confidently in large group settings. Ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors/customers and build long-term relationships
- Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Flexible and adaptable style; a professional who can positively impact both strategic and tactical fundraising initiatives
- Skills to articulate effectively, intelligently, credibly and passionately the needs of PW
- A professional and resourceful style; the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative and to manage multiple tasks or projects at one time
- High level of cross-cultural intelligence with preference given to candidates with previous experience working in a global environment
- Ability to travel domestically (8 - 10 times per year) and internationally (1 – 2 times per year)
- Mature Christian faith that is embodied in everyday work, words, and interactions
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3-5 years experience in sales, fundraising or other related business experience preferred
- Organizational leadership, major donor development and volunteer recruitment (or relevant) experience is critical to the carrying out of this role.
- Sales and public speaking experience are an asset.
- International Development, Business, Marketing, or Finance & Accounting education is important, as well as related work experience that may be relevant to perform the essential duties and responsibilities as outlined.
Work Environment: Partners Worldwide Canada is seeking qualified candidates in Alberta or Southern Ontario. The position requires domestic and international travel.
