Tails and Bails is looking for a part-time with potential to become full-time dog walker to add to our amazing team. The hikes are based mainly in the West Vancouver mountain trails where the dogs will hike and play off leash. You'll be expected to pick up/drop off the dogs from their individual homes in your own vehicle or in our company car.

Once at trail you and dogs will hike for an hour and a half and then you will return the dogs to their respective homes after a towel and or hose clean up.

Tails and Bails will spend time properly training you (you'll be paid while doing training) to make sure you are comfortable with the job before sending you off on your own adventures!

You will be covered under Tails and Bails insurance and will be expected to complete a pet first aid course covered by Tails and Bails.

Safety is our number one priority and we will make sure you have all the tools to be a great pack leader!

Job Requirements:

- Dog experience, in a work environment or just personal

- Has a valid drivers licence (this is a must)

Ideal candiate:

- Is available Monday-Friday between 8am-3pm (weekend work may be available as well). Ideally looking for someone available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.

- Enjoys the outdoors in all types of weather

- Able to host dogs at your home for boarding (not a requirement but would be a huge bonus! and extra income)

- Ability to read and understand dog behaviour (being able to decipher play from aggression, etc.)

- Can hike up to 1.5 - 3 hours a day (Maximum 3 hours)

- Can manage up to 6 dogs off leash on a hike (6 dogs maximum)

- Can lift up to 50 lbs

-Has a reliable cellphone/data plan

-Willing to take videos and photos of the dogs

Contractor position with your own vehicle:

We pay you $23/dog and you can have Maximum 6 dogs per hike ($138). (It takes approximately 3-4 hours per hike). You supply your own vehicle, gas, insurance etc. There is potential for 2 full (6 dogs) hikes per day depending on your availability.

Contractor Position using our vehicle:

We pay you$20/hour. Each hike takes approx 3-4 hours. If you take 6 dogs on a hike we will pay you $100 flat rate to make it more worth your time (we will do our best to give you 6 dogs if you want). There is potential for 2 full hikes per day within a month or two, depending on your comfort level. ($200/day)

Pickup and park car at start and end of everyday at our home office (3rd and st. George). You must be able to get to and from our office everyday.

Hours of work:

(1 hike) Mid day hike - Start at 224 3rd street, north van office around 10:30am (takes 3-4 hours)

(2 hikes) Morning hike + mid day hike start at 8am - 8:15am (takes 6-7 hours)

Part-time hours: 10-35 per week

Salary: $20.00-$40.00 per hour
