Field Technician (FT) Job at Equation Staffing Solutions.
We are seeking a
Field Technician to work in the field and shop with our World Class engineering client – they make fiber optic technology for the energy sector. If you’re interested in learning more about the functionality of fibre optics and want to enhance your mechanical skill set, we want to speak to you!
Please note: This position requires the ability to travel out of town for 15 days/per month

Responsibilities:
- Prepare materials and equipment for installation/deployment at the site
- Install and maintain field equipment
- Install specialized fiber optic cable
- Fill in all required reports such as quality control sheets, time sheets, safety forms, etc.
- Adhere strictly to all required health and safety regulations
- Regular use of hand tools, and power tools
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in similar work
- Previous experience installing fiber optic cable is preferred
- Previous experience in the energy sector is an asset
- Must be willing to work in the field on all required days (at least 15 days/month) and some weekends
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driver's abstract
- Willingness to travel to remote worksites
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
