Job Description

Factinate (www.factinate.com) is a publisher of educational content and personal story “Experience” articles. These articles are collection of engaging real-life stories, and we are looking for proofreaders to curate, proof, and lightly copyedit the articles for sense, flow, and word choice. You Will:

• Curate stories from source articles
• Proofread for profanity and flow (you will not be writing a lot, mostly light copyediting in addition to proofreading) and break into paragraphs
• Write a short, engaging introduction + headers

You are not responsible for images, only words. Ideally, writers submit 1-2 articles per week, though this is not a contractual requirement and can go up and down with your schedule.

Qualifications

You Have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in English, History, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
• At least 6 months of experience in a writing, editing, and/or copywriting role
• Excellent grammar, writing, proofreading, and editorial skills, including heightened attention to detail
• You are detail-oriented, highly self-motivated, and can receive and implement feedback with ease.

Requirements for Submission:

Please submit a resume (required), short cover letter (optional), and complete the required skill test. Please note: We cannot send out a re-test for candidates because they weren't happy with their results. Pay Rates

$45.00 for “Medium” pieces (50 points and 5,000-6,999 words) (about 2 hrs of work)

• This is a rarer assignment

$55.00 for “Large” pieces (50 points and 7,000-8,999 words) (about 2.5 hrs of work)

• This is generally what most articles fall into

$65.00 for “XL” pieces (50 points and 9,000-11,000 words) (about 3 hrs of work)

• This is a rarer assignment
